i never cease to be amazed at the talents of the people that surround us. it’s not just that some people are naturally gifted singers, athletes, or artists; but rather, i’m amazed at the talents that are created from practice, dedication, passion, and hard work. i don’t know whether my friend Madison was just born an incredible actress and performer, or if like a sculptor she’s had to slowly grind and chisel that gift from marble, but i know that to watch her perform onstage is to be wrapped up in a story and characters that feel so real and authentic. Madison is a true gift– not only as an actress and performer, but as a friend. i’m so happy that we were able to photograph together.
PS: my biggest regret from this shoot is not showing off Madison’s more bubbly, funny, and optimistic side (which is, to be honest, one of my many favorite things about her). but art and vision sometimes take the lead, and the goofy and laughing photos that we got on this session just didn’t seem to fit. ah well, perhaps it’ll be the excuse we need to photograph together again.
