Carin and Brian are the kind of couple you would have to try hard not to love. they are sweet, kind, and caring not only towards one another, but to their family, their friends, and even to random photographers who happen to be photographing their wedding. at many weddings, i am often a keen observer– a fly on the wall, so to speak, to the events happening around me. there was no chance of this happening at Brian and Carin’s wedding, as they welcomed and treated me as one of their longtime friends. Carin insisted i get lots of food, while Brian urged me to try the beer. throughout the day i was bombarded with this amazing feeling that i was being welcomed into the celebration. whether it was talking about Star Trek with the biggest little fan i’ve ever met, or sitting down at the artist’s table with amazing and creative individuals, there’s really nothing as a photographer that makes you feel more full of life than that… to not just observe, but to participate with others in the awesome, messy, crazy celebration of life and love.
starting at Porches on the Towpath for a first look and formal portraits, we eventually crossed the New Hope and Lambertville Bridge together where the rest of Carin and Brian’s friends and family were already gathering at Hamilton’s. it was there in that small courtyard touched by the beautiful flowers of Flora, that people laughed, danced, and hula-hooped full of joy and full of love for Brian and Carin. i count myself lucky to have been a part of that– it truly was a gift and also a glimpse of something sincerely beautiful.
