finding time can be hard. it is easily one of our most valuable assets in life, and sadly, we all have only a limited amount of it. time is precious.
that’s why i’m so thankful and grateful for the time that Jackie and Heather chose to spend with me when they chose me as their photographer. i often stress the importance of a being able to connect with the people you are photographing. i would even argue that being relatable is more important than being talented or creative when it comes to photography. you need to build connections.
Jackie and Heather warm my heart so much, not only because (like me) they are in a same-sex relationship, but because when we met for the first time, we met over breakfast at a diner, spending more than a few hours getting to know one another. we spent that time laughing, sharing, and talking about not just photography and their upcoming wedding, but life in all its complicated, messy, and beautiful ways. we talked, and we connected, and it fills my heart to overflowing to know them.
getting to know someone takes time. that’s why when two people choose to spend the rest of their lives together, they are giving one of the greatest gifts. they are sharing their time– one of the most precious gifts that a person could give to another.
