KATIE + SAM | INTIMATE SEBAGO LAKE WEDDING

Those who know me, also know that I have never a man of few words. I got the gift of gab from my father, which means that I sometimes talk about everything and nothing. This time though, I feel a bit speechless because nothing beats the pure emotion and love that is felt in every one of Sam and Katie’s photos. Their intimate wedding on Sebago Lake was nothing short of magical.

It’s not for me to share their story in words. All I will say is that as a queer photographer myself, I understand more than most what this wedding must have meant to Katie and Sam. To be surrounded by a small group of their closest friends as they committed their lives to one another, is nothing short of magic. This takes on a greater significance when you consider that sometimes these people are more like a chosen family than simply good friends. I never take the honor of photographing that for granted, and it’s a large part of why I will always have a special place in my heart for shooting same-sex weddings.

I promised I wouldn’t labor much more on words. So, I simply hope that these photos taken on a windy Maine lake, can capture the absolute heart of their Sam and Katie’s story. Congratulations, you two.
