RANDI + MICHAEL | INTIMATE WESTERN KANSAS BACKYARD FARM WEDDING

i love living where i do. the Philadelphia area, and my bucolic community of New Hope, Pennsylvania in particular is a place that constantly fills me with inspiration and connects me with some truly incredible people. that said, the state of Kansas (particularly its rural and farming communities) will always hold a special place in my heart. it’s in this kind of community that i grew up in, and where much of my family still lives and works. Kansas tends to have a lot of big sky, and big hearts… and so when Randi and Michael asked if i would be willing to travel there to photograph their intimate backyard wedding, i of course, said yes.

Randi and Michael’s day was full of quiet and beautiful moments, along with many funny and joyful ones too. it’s something i love about photographing smaller weddings, which is you’re given the opportunity to focus in on something truly and soulfully good. those little moments are what make a wedding day special, but they’re also what make life so richly wonderful no matter where you’re living.
