i met Tony while shooting for the River City Healers a few months back. i remember that while we shot those photos a smile was just constantly creeping up on his face. not too much has changed since then. so when Tony asked me to do a quick photography mini-session with him in Lambertville, i knew that i’d be working with a talented musician who is laid-back, fun, and of course, extremely passionate about the accordion (yes, the accordion!) it was an incredible joy to photograph him. not only is Tony super friendly and easy to talk with, but he treated me to some of his music as almost everywhere we went to in Lambertville, he had brought the accordion along to play. there’s something wonderful about working with artists and musicians. i find myself able to relate in some way how i feel about photography, to how they feel about dance, music, or playing instruments that don’t always exactly fit the mainstream. it’s beautiful, and it’s awesome, and it adds to my own passion. in some ways it makes me a better photographer… and that’s pretty dang cool.
