Kaitlyn and her family have been supporters and an encouragement to me ever since i met them. they are super nice, super fun, super welcoming and warm people who deserve every happiness. so of course, it was my extreme pleasure and joy to shoot Kaitlyn’s senior photos. she said she wanted to break the mold of traditional senior photos and to get away from trees, fields, bridges, and forests. while i love a good forest myself now and then, i asked her what she thought of taking photos on the Jersey Shore instead, and soon after a little discussion we both agreed that a sunrise shoot at Asbury Park would be pretty much a mold breaker. the weather was perfect, the waves stellar, and even after hours of shooting, i don’t think either of us were eager to quit as we were having way too much fun!
you know what makes me really proud? i’m proud of high school seniors who want to wake up before dawn to drive across New Jersey. i’m proud of individuals who come to a shoot ready and hoping to make art that day. i’m proud that even i continue to explore my limits and push them in order to get some crazy good images. i’m proud that getting taken out by a wave and scraping up your legs does not mean the shoot is over. the simple fact is… that these photos, these particular photos, makes me very very proud. and i’m so excited to share them with you.
Ellen CollingwoodSpent a good solid while looking through this album and just admiring the thoughtfulness behind the photos. Definite props for wanting to switch it up–and your vision helped these really turn out incredible. Way to go, dude.
